We are a multicultural congregation with an average age of 39 years of age. We have over 900 members and we receive new families and individuals into membership every month. Our youth ministry programs are varied and we have a large youth group of teenagers. They meet several times a month for fun, service, study, food, as well as attend multi-congregational events all over the state and the region. Our music ministry provides opportunities for folks of all ages. Our sports ministry includes basketball in our new gymnasium and softball for men. Our facilities are expanding with two new buildings in the past two years.

Fellowship opportunities include card groups, picnics, parties, dinners, trips, and beach parties. Bible studies are conducted every Wednesday morning at 10:30 a.m. and every Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m. (during the school year). Wednesdays is a busy day at St. Matthew's as we have Wednesday Nights Together (WNT) . This consists of a catered dinner served from 5:30 p.m. until 6:15 p.m. and many other music and craft activities. Our Outreach ministry consists of serving meals to the homeless, food baskets during major holidays, clothing and food pantries, nursing home activities, building homes with Habitat, and serving needs of merchant marines from all over the world. Boy Scouts and
Girl Scouts meet weekly and other community groups meet here as well.

One very special ministry we sponsor is something called Mothers Morning Out which meets Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings for preschool children. They use our brand new nursery complex and playground. Our senior citizen ministry is called JOY which stands for Just Older Youth. This group meets monthly for programs, fellowship,
